Multi-talented performer Shevyn Roberts (www.shevynroberts.com) is a seasoned industry professional. From the age of 4, Shevyn discovered her passion for the arts when she sang and danced her heart out to a sold out crowd of 3,000 people. By the time she was six years old, the industry had taken notice and she became a fast favorite of casting agents where she’d go on to book several national commercials.
In her teen years, she decided to focus on her love of dance and went on to be an astonishing Six Time National Solo Dance Champion as well as receiving many other awards and titles. Upon graduating from school, she decided to move to Los Angeles, California to pursue an acting career. It wasn’t long before she landed a spot on the Emmy Winning day time soap opera “Days of Our Lives” – where she appeared five times.
One day, while driving in her car, a radio commercial for a performing arts school caught her attention. This ignited her desire to express herself vocally and once again success would follow. In October of 2005, Shevyn took her imagination to the studio and recorded her first studio album.
By 2008, her video for the song “Wild Child” — a track from her first EP, produced by Dave Carlock (P!nk, Nine Inch Nails, Blink 182) — aired on the city’s Hot TV. Later that year, she was a featured artist at Jingle Jam, a holiday time concert put on by 104.1 KRBE (Houston’s #1 Hit Music Station) that included performances by Rihanna, Chris Brown and Gavin DeGraw.
The following March, the singer performed as the only featured artist at the Britney Spears concert pre- party at Houston’s House of Blues; she ended 2009 by opening for an about-to-explode Justin Bieber at the Verizon Wireless Theater.
In 2010, Shevyn’s Dance Academy opened as a non-profit organization in League City, Texas where Shevyn enjoyed serving as a mentor and role model to kids for a few years.
Shevyn capped 2012 by being named one of Music Connection magazine’s Hot 100 Unsigned Artists & Bands of the year.
In 2013, she secured multiple Hollywood Music In Media Award nominations. She scored her first HMMA nomination for her single “Superstitious,” then her second in for “Upside Down”; then her third for “Better Than The First Time” all in the Pop category. “Upside Down” became the official winner for Best Pop Song.
After making some transitions Shevyn moved back to Los Angeles in 2015 and was cast as a rock star in the feature film “Dead Ant” starring Tom Arnold. As of year 2016, she has most recently been seen setting stages ablaze performing at Hollywood Weekly Magazine’s Pre-Grammy party, Home Of Beverly Hills, Club Trip, the OC Tavern and numerous other sold out performances. Shevyn has recently been booked as a co-star in two upcoming feature films and been featured on the covers of United Kingdom’s “CVH 1st Class” and the Los Angeles-based “Bay Life Living” magazines. Shevyn released her first cover music video in April 2016 featuring the song “I’m Just A Girl” By No Doubt which quickly became a fan favorite and has accumulated over 53,000 views on Facebook as well as her other cover music video released in June 2016 to a Life House Song known as “Everything” which has to date over 29,000 views already on Facebook alone. Shevyn plans on recording more original material and will release more cover music videos as well as original music videos through out the year.
Shevyn is a deeply spiritual person and always makes time to honor this whether it’s through song, dance, raising praise, sharing insights and wisdom with her fans or just spending quality time in her Los Angeles home.
One things for sure, Shevyn’s star is on the rise and burning brightly on both ends.
